Subject: Visiting the temple and Michael

Hello,

I'm enjoying Michael's presence on Youtube and in the audible reading of the Surrender Experiment. I am touched by the love I see for people in Michael's eyes. Are there guest-houses around the temple that can be rented for a few days while attending temple meditation?

Warmly,

Dane

Dear Dane,

Thank you for your interest in the Temple. Most people find the best time to visit the Temple is for Mickey’s talks which he gives three times a week, on Monday and Thursday nights beginning at 8:15pm and then on Sunday morning beginning at 9:30am. For a map and full schedule please visit our website at www.tou.org.

Visitors from out of town often stay in either Alachua or Gainesville. Here are some suggested lodgings that may help in this regard.

Hello Christie,

Would you be able to forward the attached letter to Mickey as a paper or e-mail letter? It will be a little time before I can hand it to him in person as I'm heading to Thailand for a month. If there is an address you would prefer I mail it to let me know. Thanks!

Best,

Dane

Dear Dane,

Thank you for writing. I handle correspondence for Michael Singer. We thank you for your letter and for your sincere desire for deep inner growth. There are nuances to the path of surrender, but the underlying intention is to let go of the part of oneself that is not living the truth. This is the part that has personal preferences and concepts about what life should or should not be. Once a person lets go of that part of themselves, they will be able to clearly interact with life and serve it to raise every moment that unfolds in front of them. You may find that Michael’s online course will give you the clarification you are seeking on some of the questions you’ve asked. I’ve put some information about it below. Thank you again for writing and for your dedication to inner growth and freedom.

Thank you,
Karen

Michael Singer’s online video course is entitled Living From a Place of Surrender – The Untethered Soul in Action. The course was created and produced by Sounds True Publications and was filmed at the Temple of the Universe, where Michael teaches. Michael feels that the course captures the true essence of his teachings. The course consists of eight, one hour-plus sessions that can be watched over and over. The feedback we are getting is phenomenal, and people are reporting to us that it has helped them go the next level with their inner spiritual growth.

Hi Karen,

I understand the gist of Michael's message. However, who is it in you and Michael who is "serving the moment" by having you reply rather than Michael? Or reiterate a gist rather than to respond to main points? Does that serve Karen's preference, the moment or something else? Was Michael's preference to respond to his letters but a higher purpose said "no, let Karen do it to serve the moment?" I don't feel honored by that choice. Nor was it what I asked Christi. So one could say I am surrendering to this moment as it is happening - including the feelings that come up about that. One must ultimately learn from a teachers behavior more than words and I have an assistant to do things I don't have time for. But I consider all of that my personal choices and preference. Is there a Karen in this conversation who is serving based on a larger field independent of personal preference? If so, who decides what to write and what not to write and why and how is that different from "you?" It is in the complexity and details that something becomes valuable. I don't know who is there writing these words if not my preference. I have a warmer and more open experience to write this than I did before I started writing. I enjoy those more open experience so for me it is a "yes." I don't call it surrender or making it happen. I do a little, notice how it feels, notice what I think (in this case it seems likely that more awareness is a good thing and little risk is involved for you and I), then do a bit more if I welcome the feeling.

The truth is that I neither agree or disagree with much of what Michael writes. He is selective in his references to science to make his points. I notice a profound heart experience that is distinctive to my association with Michael's presence that I honor by spending time with it, both in reading and writing and questioning and presencing. It is my preference to do so, as it is my preference to allow the alchemy that opens up at times and is bigger than words (what I mean is that the words to my mind suggest challenge, hurt and anger, while the feeling I notice is very beautiful, suggesting that the presence is bigger than these words for me).

Warmly,

Dane
